Sunfaded dreams burn the skies
There never was time to say goodbye
To the brilliant greens and laughing eyes
Before the autumn storms rolled in

There never was time to say goodbye
We lived and loved with all our strength
Before the autumn storms rolled in
How do you capture eternity?

We lived and loved with all our strength
Believing the old guard would never die
How do you capture eternity?
We never walked so tall again

Believing the old guard would never die
To the brilliant greens and laughing eyes
We never walked so tall again
Sunfaded dreams burn the skies

This is a pantoum written for: projectdfc.deviantart.com/jour… hosted by :iconprojectdfc:

From the DFC pdf:

December 7th: The Pantoum is another French form. It features quatrains and refrains. It has to have more than one stanza and it wraps itself up nicely as a form. A three stanza pantoum’s scheme would be this: A,B,C,D; B,E,D,F; E,A,F,C .

I listened to "Year Of The Cat" by Al Stewart: www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqZc7Z…

Author's Note: It is nearly impossible to articulate an entire childhood, and especially of a different era. The vintage seasons with their respective garlands of tinsel and icicles or summer's shade tree...loved ones who've passed on and the million conversations lost to memory and aether...such is life.

Okay dude that was really cool. I actually didn't even notice the repetition until the end, and it reflects the feeling of something leaving really well. Regardless of whether it's a common French style or whatever :P
